Special Addition for 2023 show –
The 2023 show will be Bedwellty’s 150th show. To mark this occasion there is a speed shear taking place on the show ground following our show hosted by Gelligaer Speed Shearing Society. This will start at 5.30pm. You can read all about this on our blog post here.
Our hosts Llancaiach Fawr Manor will be handing out vouchers to Bedwellty Agricultural Show 2023 guests upon arrival which will allow them to purchase all Manor entry tickets for half price on showing proof of their Bedwellty Agricultural Show wristband/proof of entry to the show on show day. The also have some special offers on over the summer holiday, you can read about them on our website.
You can read more about this on our blog post, here.
From all at the Bedwellty Agricultural Society, we hope you enjoy the show!
Our show has been situated on the grounds of Llancaiach Manor for a number of years now and would like to make you aware of the offers the manor has on over the summer –
We are offering a Family Ticket Special Offer throughout the Summer holidays for £15. This entitles 2 adults and up to 3 children to experience a day tour of the Manor led by the servants of Colonel Prichard. They will be in full 17th century costume and speak in old English and so it will feel as if the visitors have stepped back in time to the year 1645 during the Civil War.
Other admission charges are £8.50 per adult and £6.95 for children/concessions.
In addition to this, we are also handing out vouchers to Bedwellty Show guests upon arrival which will allow them to purchase all Manor entry tickets for half price on showing proof of their Show wristband/proof of entry to the Show.
You can find out more about the manor by visiting their accounts –
Back by popular demand following his appearance at our show last year, sheepdog Mac will be visiting us with his flock of sheep and handler Ruscombe Jones to give you a demonstration of the skills he uses everyday as a working sheepdog.
Mac is expected to make his appearance in the main ring at 14:30, but please be aware this is a guide and things may vary on show day.
To help us Celebrate our 150th show Gelligaer Sheep Society will be hosting a speed shear from 5.30pm on the show ground after our show!
There will be food & bar refreshments available from the Gelligaer Society, which will be cash only.
Find more out about the society on Facebook: Gelligaer Sheep Shearing Society

Thank you to their sponsors who have helped make this event possible –
Here is another rosette that will be at our 2023 show for you to have a sneak peak at, this time the GEMS 2023.
The GEMS rosette will be presented in each Miniature Shetland Pony class, to the highest
placed Miniature Shetland who’s handler is a GEMS member.
If you’ve entered this class please remember you MUST be wearing your 2023 Members badge while in the show ring!
Find out more about GEMS by visiting their Facebook page: GEMS (Group Established For Miniature Shetlands)
These special rosettes have been commissioned by Williams and Robertson of Pantyrhyn Farm for Champion Heavy Horse and Best Local Suckler Herd.
The family have supported our show for many years, with Irving Williams showing his own British Friesians with us for many years. When the family found out the 2023 show would be our 150th they very kindly donated these to the show to commemorate the occasion.
Two of our competitors will be taking home a very special piece of Bedwellty history.
We can’t wait to see who wins them on Saturday!
